1) Purpose of this page
This page sets out the Terms & Conditions, health and medical disclaimers, and consent information that apply when you:
browse or use this website;
read, watch or follow any information we share (including social media and email);
purchase or use any digital products, courses, exercise programmes or educational resources;
book or attend an appointment (in-person or remote/online).
By accessing this website or using our services or content, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by law.
If you do not agree, please do not use this website, content, products or services.
2) Who we are and professional standards
MoveMed provides chiropractic services and may also provide education, exercise-based rehabilitation resources, health information and general wellbeing content.
Where clinical care is provided, it is delivered in accordance with applicable professional obligations and the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) Code of Professional Practice, effective 1 January 2026. See https://www.gcc-uk.org/.
3) Not emergency care
MoveMed does not provide emergency or crisis services.
If you believe you may have a medical emergency, call 999 (UK) or attend A&E. If you require urgent advice, contact NHS 111.
Do not rely on website or social media content for urgent or emergency decisions.
4) Educational information vs clinical advice
4.1 General information only
Unless we explicitly state otherwise, the content on this website and any content we publish elsewhere (including posts, videos, podcasts, blogs, emails and downloadable resources) is general educational information. It is not intended to:
diagnose any condition;
provide individualised treatment recommendations;
replace a medical assessment by a qualified healthcare professional.
4.2 No clinician–patient relationship from content
Reading, viewing, downloading, purchasing or applying any of our general content does not create a chiropractor–patient relationship. A clinical relationship only exists where you have:
booked an appointment (or a formal remote consultation); and
completed appropriate intake/consent processes; and
received individualised care from us.
4.3 Individual results vary
Health, pain, recovery, performance and function are influenced by many factors (including medical history, sleep, stress, activity exposure, beliefs, capacity, adherence, comorbidities and environmental demands). Outcomes cannot be guaranteed.
5) Health and exercise risk disclaimer
Exercise and manual therapy carry inherent risks. You agree that:
you are responsible for your own health decisions;
you will use good judgement and stop any activity that causes concerning symptoms;
you will seek appropriate medical help when needed.
5.1 Stop and seek medical help if you experience red flags
Stop any activity and seek urgent medical advice if you experience symptoms such as: chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath, sudden severe headache, loss of bowel/bladder control, saddle numbness, progressive neurological weakness, unexplained weight loss with severe pain, fever with severe spinal pain, or any other rapidly worsening symptoms.
5.2 “Try-at-your-own-risk” for general content
If you choose to apply any movement, rehabilitation or lifestyle suggestion from our general content, you do so voluntarily and at your own risk, and you accept that you remain responsible for monitoring your symptoms and obtaining medical support.
6) Evidence, accuracy and updates
We aim to ensure that health information we share publicly is credible, accessible and consistent with the best available evidence at the time of publication, recognising that evidence and guidelines can evolve.
We do not guarantee that all content will always reflect the latest evidence at the precise time you view it. We may update, amend or remove content at any time without notice.
7) Consent for clinical care (in-person or remote)
Where we provide clinical care, consent is treated as an ongoing process. You will be offered the opportunity to ask questions, and you may withdraw consent at any time.
7.1 What you consent to (clinical setting)
By proceeding with clinical care, you acknowledge that you have been informed (in a format you can understand) about:
the nature and purpose of the proposed assessment and/or care;
potential benefits and material risks;
reasonable alternatives (including no treatment);
expected natural history/prognosis where relevant;
how progress will be monitored and reviewed;
your right to refuse, pause, modify or stop care at any time.
7.2 Capacity and safeguarding
We take reasonable steps to consider capacity and vulnerability. Additional safeguards apply for children and vulnerable adults, including consent from a parent/guardian or lawful authority where required, and chaperone/advocate considerations where appropriate. Code_of_Professional_Practice-s…
7.3 Chaperones and dignity
Where assessment or care may be considered intimate, or where you request it, a chaperone may be offered/used in line with professional standards, and this will be recorded as appropriate. Code_of_Professional_Practice-s…
8) Remote consultations and digital delivery
If you undertake remote/online consultations or use digital services, you acknowledge:
remote care has limitations compared to in-person assessment;
technical issues can affect quality or continuity;
you are responsible for ensuring a safe space to perform any movement;
you will not perform movements requiring supervision if it is unsafe for you to do so.
We may refuse or stop remote care if it is not clinically appropriate or safe.
9) Booking, fees, cancellation and refunds
9.1 Appointments
Fees are disclosed prior to booking. Payment terms may vary by service type. Missed appointments and late cancellations may be charged in line with the clinic’s current booking policy.
9.2 Digital products, programmes and courses
Where you purchase digital content, you may have consumer cancellation rights for distance contracts, subject to statutory rules and exceptions.
If you request immediate access to digital content, you may be asked to acknowledge that you understand your right to cancel may be affected once performance begins, where applicable under consumer law.
Refund policy: As set out in the website and platforms.
10) Professional boundaries and respectful conduct
We are committed to maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. We will not engage in inappropriate personal, emotional or financial relationships with patients or followers.
We may refuse service or restrict engagement where behaviour is abusive, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate.
11) Testimonials and examples
Any testimonials, case examples or success stories are shared to illustrate experience and patient perspectives. They do not guarantee that you will achieve the same outcome.
Where case material is shared, we aim to preserve privacy and confidentiality and will not share identifiable details without an appropriate lawful basis/consent.
12) Intellectual property and permitted use
All content, including programmes, PDFs, videos, text, graphics, logos and course materials, is owned by Dr Cuan Wayne Coetzee / MoveMed (or licensed to us) and protected by intellectual property law.
You may use purchased/downloaded resources for personal, non-commercial use only, unless we provide written permission otherwise.
You must not reproduce, resell, distribute, upload, share, adapt or publish our content without written consent.
13) Links to other websites and third-party resources
We may link to third-party websites, resources or products for convenience or education. We do not control third-party content and are not responsible for it.
If we have a financial relationship or affiliate arrangement, we will aim to disclose this clearly in the relevant context.
14) Limitation of liability (important legal section)
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
In particular, we do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence, or for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Subject to the above and to the extent permitted by law, we aim to limit liability as follows:
We are not liable for losses arising from your reliance on general educational content where no clinical relationship exists, especially where you have not sought appropriate assessment for your individual circumstances.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example, loss of profits, loss of business, loss of opportunity) arising from use of the website or digital products, except where such limitation would be unlawful.
Where liability can lawfully be limited, any such limitation is intended to apply only to the extent that it is fair and reasonable and consistent with consumer and contract law.
You remain responsible for your own choices, actions, and how you apply any educational information.
15) Your responsibilities
By using this website, content, programmes or services, you agree that you will:
provide accurate information about your health when requested (especially in clinical contexts);
ask questions where you are unsure;
follow safety guidance and stop if symptoms worsen;
seek medical help when needed;
use content responsibly and within your ability and environment;
respect professional boundaries and communicate appropriately.
16) Records, privacy and data protection
We handle personal data in line with applicable UK data protection law and our Privacy Policy.
Clinical records are maintained with appropriate confidentiality, accuracy and security. You may have legal rights to access your personal information and health records.
Privacy Policy SEE BELOW.
17) Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms, Disclaimers and Consent statements from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates the latest revision. Continued use of the website or services after changes indicates acceptance of the updated terms.
18) Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless consumer law requires otherwise.

Neural Re-Education (NRE) Protocol – Disclaimer, Terms of Use & Intellectual Property Notice
Last updated: 10/01/2026
Owner/Creator: Dr Cuan Wayne Coetzee (@MoveMedUK)
Website: movemed.co.uk
1) What NRE is (and what it is not)
The Neural Re-Education (NRE) Protocol is a clinical and educational framework used by MoveMed to organise and communicate rehabilitation principles, movement exposure strategies, patient education, and behaviour-change considerations.
NRE is not a new discovery, not a claim of unique scientific findings, and not presented as original academic research. It is a structured protocol that draws upon established concepts across musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pain science, motor learning, exercise therapy, psychology-informed care, and general health education. In other words, NRE is a way of organising and applying existing concepts in a clinically practical manner.
NRE should be understood as a framework or model designed to guide thinking and support communication—not a guarantee of outcomes, not a single treatment “method” that is universally appropriate, and not a substitute for clinical judgement or individual assessment.
2) Educational information vs clinical care
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, NRE materials provided on this website, within downloads, programmes, courses, emails, videos, or social media content are provided for general educational purposes only.
Nothing within NRE content is intended to:
provide medical advice;
diagnose any condition;
prescribe individualised treatment;
replace in-person assessment or a formal consultation with a qualified healthcare professional.
Accessing, reading, watching, purchasing, or applying NRE content does not create a clinician–patient relationship.
If you require advice tailored to your situation, you must obtain a formal, individual assessment with an appropriately qualified professional.
3) Clinical framework and professional standards
Where NRE is used within MoveMed clinical services, it is used as part of a broader clinical approach and is applied according to professional obligations, including the General Chiropractic Council Code of Professional Practice (effective 1 January 2026).
This means that, in a clinical context, care decisions are based on:
a person-centred approach;
consent as an ongoing process;
risk/benefit discussions and alternatives;
clinical reasoning and the best available evidence at the time;
appropriate outcome monitoring and review;
referral where indicated;
professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safety.
4) Evidence, research and claims
NRE may reference or discuss topics such as neuroplasticity, motor learning, pain modulation, graded exposure, strength and conditioning, mobility, endurance, coordination, sensory input, and behavioural factors. However:
NRE is not presented as a research study, a medical device, or an academic qualification.
NRE does not claim to be a “cure”, a “guaranteed solution”, or a replacement for evidence-based healthcare.
Any discussion of science is for education and context, and may simplify complex topics for accessibility.
Evidence evolves. While we aim to keep content accurate and consistent with the best available evidence at the time of publication, we cannot guarantee that all material will always reflect the latest research or guidance at the precise time you view it. Code_of_Professional_Practice-s…
Where NRE discusses mechanisms or theories, these should be interpreted as educational explanations rather than definitive statements applicable to every individual.
5) Outcomes and individual variation (no guarantees)
Responses to movement, rehabilitation, manual therapy, education and lifestyle changes vary widely between individuals. Your experience may be influenced by many factors including (but not limited to) medical history, injury status, sleep, stress, workload, genetics, previous activity exposure, comorbidities, medications, beliefs and expectations, adherence, and environmental demands.
Accordingly:
No outcome is guaranteed, including pain reduction, improved function, improved performance, or prevention of future problems.
Improvement may be non-linear and symptoms can fluctuate.
Some people may experience discomfort, symptom flare-ups, fatigue, or delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) with exercise and rehabilitation approaches.
If symptoms worsen or you have concerns, you should stop and seek assessment.
6) Safety disclaimer (exercise and symptom monitoring)
Any movement or exercise carries risk. By choosing to undertake any NRE-related movement or programme, you agree that you are responsible for:
selecting an appropriate intensity and range of motion;
ensuring a safe environment (space, surfaces, equipment, footwear, supervision where needed);
stopping immediately if you experience concerning symptoms;
seeking medical advice when appropriate.
Stop and seek urgent medical attention if you develop “red flag” symptoms
Seek urgent medical help if you experience any of the following:
chest pain, fainting, severe shortness of breath;
sudden severe headache or neurological symptoms;
new or progressive weakness, numbness, loss of coordination;
loss of bowel or bladder control, saddle numbness;
fever, unexplained weight loss with severe pain;
severe unremitting pain, night pain, or any rapidly worsening symptoms.
This list is not exhaustive. If you are uncertain, err on the side of caution and seek appropriate medical assessment.
7) Who should not use NRE content without professional guidance
You should not apply NRE content without appropriate medical advice if you:
are pregnant or postpartum with complications;
have significant neurological symptoms;
have a recent fracture, suspected fracture, or osteoporosis concerns;
have inflammatory, infectious, or systemic disease affecting the spine/joints;
have known spinal cord or cauda equina concerns;
have unexplained severe or progressive symptoms;
are under 16 without appropriate adult supervision and professional guidance;
have any medical condition where exercise needs medical clearance.
If in doubt, consult a qualified healthcare professional before attempting any programme.
8) “Use at your own risk” for non-clinical users
If you use NRE resources without being a MoveMed patient in an established clinical relationship, you acknowledge and agree that:
you are using general education;
you are responsible for deciding whether and how to apply it;
you accept the inherent risks of movement and exercise;
you will seek appropriate assessment when required.
To the extent permitted by law, MoveMed and its representatives are not responsible for injury, loss, or adverse outcomes arising from self-directed use of general educational content.
Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
9) Professional use disclaimer (clinicians, trainers, educators)
If you are a healthcare professional, coach, trainer, or educator, and you choose to engage with NRE content:
You remain solely responsible for your own clinical decisions, scope of practice, professional obligations, consent processes, risk management, safeguarding, and record keeping.
NRE content does not replace your professional training, regulatory responsibilities, or duty of care.
Any implementation in your setting must be adapted appropriately and used only where clinically suitable, safe, and within your competence.
10) Anecdotal and experiential content
Some NRE content may include clinical observations, lived experience, or anecdotal commentary (for example, “we find this helps some people feel calmer”, or “patients often report…”). Such statements:
describe observations, not guaranteed outcomes;
should not be interpreted as universal claims;
do not replace clinical assessment or evidence-based guidance.
11) Intellectual property (NRE protocol ownership)
“Neural Re-Education”, “NRE Protocol”, and associated MoveMed framework language, structure, programme formats, and original written or visual materials are the intellectual property of MoveMed / Dr Cuan Wayne Coetzee, unless otherwise stated.
You may not:
copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, transmit, distribute, sell, license, or exploit NRE materials (in whole or in part);
create derivative programmes or courses that substantially replicate the structure or unique expression of NRE materials;
present NRE materials as your own.
You may:
use purchased/downloaded resources for your personal use;
quote brief extracts for non-commercial purposes where permitted by law, with attribution, and without implying endorsement.
If you wish to use NRE materials for teaching, professional training, licensing, or organisational delivery, written permission is required.
12) No endorsement of third-party interpretations
We are not responsible for how third parties interpret, summarise, teach, repackage, or apply NRE-related ideas. Any third-party product, course, or service referencing “NRE” is not endorsed unless explicitly stated in writing by MoveMed.
13) Updates, changes and availability
We may update, revise, remove, or replace NRE content, programme structures, and explanations at any time. NRE is a living framework used for education and clinical organisation, and it may evolve.
14) Acceptance of this disclaimer
By using, purchasing, downloading, watching, or applying any NRE-related content, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this disclaimer and agree to be bound by it to the extent permitted by law.
If you do not agree, do not use NRE content or services.
Neural Re-Education (NRE) is the name given to a proprietary treatment protocol and tool developed by Dr. Cuan Wayne Coetzee. While NRE incorporates established principles of manual therapy, pain neuroscience education and exercise therapy, the specific methodology and application within the NRE framework are unique to Dr. Coetzee's practice.
Medical Disclaimer:
NRE as an educational tool is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Results may vary, and the efficacy may differ based on individual circumstances. Patients are advised to consult with a qualified healthcare professional before starting any new treatment regimen.
Intellectual Property:
The term "Neural Re-Education (NRE)" and associated materials are the intellectual property of Dr. Cuan Wayne Coetzee. Unauthorised use, reproduction, or distribution is prohibited.
Qualifications:

Stiffness or soreness, especially after initial sessions.
Headaches or fatigue as your body adjusts.
Rare but serious complications, such as stroke or spinal injury (see attached document on Risks and Complications for more information).
It is important to communicate any discomfort or concerns to your chiropractor immediately.
Alternatives to Chiropractic Treatment
You have the right to explore alternative treatment options, which may include:
Manual therapies: Such as physiotherapy, osteopathy, or massage therapy.
Medical management: Including medication or injections recommended by your GP.
Surgical interventions: In cases where surgery may be deemed necessary by a medical professional.
Self-management or no treatment: Managing your condition independently, with lifestyle modifications and self-care strategies.
Patient Responsibilities
Your active participation is crucial to the success of your care. To achieve the best outcomes, we ask that you:
Provide accurate and complete information about your medical history.
Follow the treatment plan and any recommendations made by your chiropractor.
Inform your chiropractor of any changes in your condition, symptoms, or medication.

Patient Declaration
I have read and understood the information presented in this consent form. I have had the opportunity to ask questions and receive clear answers. I consent to chiropractic treatment, including acupuncture, dry needling, and other therapeutic interventions as recommended. I understand that I can withdraw my consent or discontinue treatment at any time. I acknowledge that treatments must be paid for in advance or on the day of treatment and that I am aware of the cancellation policy, including fees for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice. I consent to appropriate physical examinations, treatments, and advice provided as part of my care.
Important Notice:
Chiropractic care, including techniques such as dry needling, is designed to support overall well-being and enhance your quality of life. It is not a cure for any specific condition, and individual results may vary. Our approach is rooted in current clinical evidence and best practices, and we are committed to helping you achieve your health goals safely and effectively.
Risks and Complications
Understanding the Risks of Chiropractic Care and Dry Needling
Chiropractic care and dry needling are generally safe, effective therapies used to enhance well-being, reduce pain, and improve movement. However, as with all healthcare interventions, there are potential risks. While serious complications are exceedingly rare, it is important to be informed about them to make the best decision for your health.
Stroke
There have been concerns about the risk of stroke associated with spinal manipulation, especially in the neck. Current research, including a study by Cassidy et al. (2008), suggests no direct causal link between chiropractic adjustments and vertebral artery dissection, a type of stroke. The risk is estimated at about 1 per 3 million cervical manipulations, and it remains a topic of debate within the medical community. It is essential to communicate any history of neck pain, headache, or arterial issues with your chiropractor to ensure the safest possible care (Cassidy et al., 2008).
Disc Herniations
Chiropractic adjustments are typically safe and effective for spinal health. However, there is a very low risk of aggravating existing disc herniations, which could occasionally require further medical intervention. A review by Oliphant (2004) found this risk to be approximately 1 in 3.7 million manipulations, highlighting the rarity of such events. Patients with known disc issues should communicate their condition clearly to allow for careful, tailored adjustments (Oliphant, 2004).
Cauda Equina Syndrome
Cauda Equina Syndrome is an extremely rare but serious condition that may occur after spinal manipulation, characterised by symptoms such as severe back pain, loss of bladder or bowel control, and numbness in the saddle area. This condition requires immediate medical attention. The estimated risk is less than 1 per 100 million manipulations, making it an exceptionally rare occurrence (Triano et al., 1995).
Soft Tissue Injury
Occasionally, minor strains or sprains to muscles or ligaments can result in temporary discomfort following chiropractic adjustments. These incidents are generally mild, self-limiting, and do not lead to long-term issues. While precise data on incidence rates are limited, these occurrences are considered rare and usually resolve with minimal intervention and rest.
Rib and Other Fractures
Fractures, particularly of the ribs, are uncommon but may occur, especially in individuals with osteoporosis or other bone-weakening conditions. Careful assessment and modification of techniques help minimise this risk. Research indicates that with appropriate methods, the likelihood of fractures is significantly reduced (Carnes et al., 2010).
Physical Therapy Burns
In rare instances, burns or skin irritation can occur from the improper application of heat or cold therapies used in conjunction with chiropractic care. Adhering to recommended guidelines and proper application techniques minimises these risks, making them largely preventable.
Soreness
Mild soreness following chiropractic adjustments is relatively common and typically reflects the body's natural response to manual therapy. This type of soreness is usually short-lived, resolving within 24-48 hours, and is not considered a significant clinical concern (Senstad et al., 1996).
Death.
Dry Needling Specific Risks
Dry needling is generally well-tolerated, but it does carry minimal risks. The most serious, though extremely rare, is pneumothorax (collapsed lung), which is highly unlikely with skilled application. More common side effects include bruising, minor bleeding, and temporary soreness. A review by Brady et al. (2014) found these adverse effects to be mild and infrequent, making dry needling a safe addition to care when performed by trained professionals (Brady et al., 2014).
Important Notice:
Chiropractic care, including dry needling, aims to support your overall health and well-being, but it is not a guaranteed cure for specific conditions. Outcomes vary from person to person, and it is important to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider about your needs, expectations, and any changes in your condition.
